Directions

Overlooking Long Island Sound and positioned almost exactly between New York City and Boston, Madison is ideally situated and conveniently located just minutes from Interstate-95 and accessible by Metro-North Railroad. Explore the neighboring towns along the shoreline, take a scenic drive to the Connecticut River Valley, or visit Mystic, New Haven, or the casinos – all within an hour’s drive from town.

From New York City

Traveling on I-95 North, take Exit 62 to Madison/Hammonasset Beach State Park. Take a right off the exit, and follow the Hammonasset Connector approx. 1.2 miles to the intersection. Take a right onto Route 1/Boston Post Road. Beech Tree Cottages will be on the right.

 

From Boston/Providence

Traveling on I-95 South, take Exit 62 to Madison/Hammonasset Beach State Park. Take a left off the exit, and follow the Hammonasset Connector approx. 1.2 miles to the intersection. Take a right onto Route 1/Boston Post Road. Beech Tree Cottages will be on the right.

 

From Hartford

Traveling on I-91 South, merge onto Route 9 via Exit 22S toward Middletown/ Old Saybrook. Continue on Route 9, merging onto I-95 South toward Old Saybrook/New Haven. Take Exit 62 to Madison/Hammonasset Beach State Park.  Take a left off the exit, and follow the Hammonasset Connector approx. 1.2 miles to the intersection. Take a right onto Route 1/Boston Post Road. Beech Tree Cottages will be on the right.

 

By Train

Madison is accessible by train on the Shoreline East Line via Amtrak or MetroNorth. From New York, take MetroNorth from Grand Central Station to New Haven and transfer to Shoreline East, departing in Madison. Alternatively, take Amtrak from Penn Station to New Haven and transfer to Shoreline East, departing in Madison. From Boston/Providence, take Amtrak to Old Saybrook and transfer to Shoreline East, departing in Madison. Please note, Madison and the shoreline area do not have frequent taxi services so please book in advance. Rental cars can be hired through Avis at Union Station in New Haven or Enterprise in Madison.
